Year 2 Collage in the style of Henri Matisse

Year 2 are learning about the French 'Fauve' artist, Henri Matisse.  Matisse began as a painter before becoming famous for his vibrant large-scale collages in later life.  The children have been learning about his style of 'paper cut-outs' that have inspired story illiustrators, such as Eric Carle in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  The children began by using primary colours to create their own paint palette of secondary colours to cut out and later use in their response to 'The Snail' by Matisse.
