Emma Cockburn-Hyde

As an ex-pupil, I was very excited that the opportunity arose for me to become a co-opted governor at Sherwood. I have lived in the area all of my life and know the importance of the school within the community. 

I was elected to the role of Chair of Governors in Summer 2025. This followed a period as Vice Chair of Governors.

I currently work in the governance team at a large multi-academy trust advising members, trustees, governors, principals and other staff members on all matters of school governance. From my role, I bring skills in leadership and management, an understanding of governance structures in an educational setting and the importance of good governance.
