Willow Artist Comes to Visit in Year 2
Lesson: Art and design
Class: Year 2 Year: 2024 - 2025
This week, Cherry Chung, a willow artist, is visiting in school. She is working with Year 2 to weave two ant sculptures and a centipede sculpture which is made from willow and metal. The children enjoyed working in a third dimension using flexible, long rods of willow. They learned a new technique to feed the willow rods through the metal framework using both hands and lots of dexterity! We are looking forward to seeing the giant minibeast sculptures installed outside in our school grounds. The minibeast sculptures will form part of a set of four sculptures alongside the bumble bee by Year 4. Keep a look out for our wonderful new art on display!
