EYFS visit Smithills Farm

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Foundation Year: 2025 - 2026

A fun filled day was had by all, at Smithills Open Farm.  The children had lots of opportunities to get up close to the wide variety of farm animals.  The children all enjoyed hand feeding the animals, meeting the baby animals, going on a donkey and tractor ride and seeing the large herd of Jersey cows being milked.  We also saw the milk being sent straight to the Dairy to be bottled or turned into ice cream.  Alongside the farm animals, we also had chance to visit the Smithills Zoo and meet some of the reptiles.
