Victoria Jamieson

Victoria Jamieson is an American author and illustrator of children’s and young adult literature. She grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania, and attended the Rhode Island School of Design, initially planning to pursue animation but ultimately focusing on illustration. Omar Mohamed

Omar Mohamed was born in Somalia and, at age four, fled to the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya, where he spent the next 15 years with his younger brother, Hassan. Despite the challenging conditions, he completed primary and secondary school in Dadaab. In 2009, Omar and Hassan resettled in Tucson, Arizona, and Omar later earned a degree in International Development from the University of Arizona. He became a U.S. citizen the same year. Mohamed is the founder of Refugee Strong, a nonprofit organization that supports refugees in Dadaab by providing educational resources and volunteer opportunities. He currently works as a resettlement case manager and lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with his wife, their five children, and Hassan
