Brogen Murphy graduated with a degree in Zoology from the University of Cambridge and then set about trying to figure out how best to save the world. They tried ecology field work, carbon offsetting and a brief stint in climate activism, before spending fifteen years promoting clean technologies to help build a low-carbon future. When not writing, they can be found exploring the forest with their wife looking (down) for mushrooms or (up) for birds – and therefore often tripping over. Their debut children's novel WILDLANDS is published by Penguin Random House. Find out more about Brogen on their website https://www.brogenmurphy.com/

As you enjoy your new book, take time to stop and think about the text in more detail. Each week, more discussion points will be added to the file below. These are for you to share with with an adult at home, so that they can enjoy the book with you!

Explore the book further - Book Drop Bingo!

We hope you are enjoying the book as much as we are! To explore the book further, why not take part in 'Book Drop Bingo'? A series of creative tasks that you can complete to enter into our Year 6 Book Drop Draw. Print off the Bingo card below and tick a task when you have completed it. You can complete a task in your Homework book or use Seesaw to upoad or create it (just remember to save it to your Book Drop folder). To enter the draw, bring your completed card to school and post it in the prize draw box by Friday 12th December. We will also be completing some of these tasks during our Reading Workshops in school - so please ensure that you bring your copy of the novel into school each day to use. If all of these tasks are completed to a high standard by December, you will be entered into a prize draw!
