Lui Sit was born in Hong Kong, raised in Australia and lives in London. She fell in love with reading and writing at primary school. She began by writing plays then poetry. When she was 9 years old,  she got paid $5 for her first ever publication – A Ballad of War. As an adult, she has worked in the arts, education, publishing and charity sectors whilst becoming a children's author which is her definition of delight. In May this year, The Land of the Last Wildcat was announced as Waterstone's Children's Book of the Month.
