Junior Parkrun October 2026

As a Parkrun Primary School, we are pleased to share our most recent update.

On Sunday 18th October 2026, a large group of children and families from Sherwood met in Avenham Park to take part in the Junior Parkrun together. This was our second event as a school toegther, and for the second time we helped the event to achieve their hightest attendance to date!

45 children participated, many wearing their WE ARE SHERWOOD tshirts proudly!

For some children this was their first Parkrun but for many, the weekly Junior Parkrun has become part of their Sunday routine. Participating and being active toegther was great fun and we loved seeing elder siblings come along too! Well done to all our runners!

Here is a link to the results.

Junior Parkrun is a weekly, free event for all children. The Avenham Park Junior Parkrun team are fantasic. The session always starts with an energietic warm up, there are lots of enthusiastic marshalls along the routine and the setting in Avenham Park is stunning!

If your child would like to get involved, please visit the Avenham Park Junior Parkrun page for more information.

We all felt alive yesterday - a fantastic event.
