Santa Dash

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday 27th of November, Year 6 are visiting the Bolton Octagon Theatre to watch the award-winning musical The Jungle Book, in preparation for our English unit on formal reviews. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to visit the theatre and see a live stage production.

However, Year 6 need your help as the total cost for the theatre and coach is £1500 (approx. £25 per child). Therefore, on Wednesday 11th December, Year 6 will be taking part in a sponsored 5K Santa Dash to raise funds to pay for the trip. Each child will run or walk 15 laps on the running track during the day, with parents invited to join us alongside the rest of the school from 3.00 pm for their final laps, and to cheer them on as they cross the finishing line.

On the day, there will be prizes for:

· The best Santa costume;

· The best Ho, ho, ho!;

· Great perseverance during the run;

· Great fundraising; and

· The fastest 5K.

We look forward to a great event and seeing the children dashing (hopefully not through snow) in their Santa costumes. We ask that over the next few weeks, your child begins to gather sponsors on the form attached. We will collect sponsorship forms and money on the day of the dash.

On the day of the theatre trip, Year 6 will need to be in school for the normal time and in school uniform. We will set off from school at 9am (Please provide your child with a packed lunch for the day) and return at approximately 1:30 pm.
