Our School
Our school opened in September 1990 with 90 pupils and has grown to 420 pupils. We have built up excellent resources through hard work and financial support from parents, local industry and the LA.
We are very proud of the fact that Sherwood Primary School has been classed twice by OFSTED as an "outstanding" school (January 2009 and May 2012).
We all firmly believe the school should provide a warm, friendly environment for the children to succeed. Children are encouraged to work hard and are offered a variety of activities in order to develop a high self-esteem. The progress of all pupils is closely monitored, enabling the children to thrive and develop skills for learning and life. We provide a wide range of activities throughout the school, including after school clubs and residential visits.
We value the support that parents can give by making sure the children have good manners, self-discipline and smart appearance. Parents are encouraged to help in school, either in class or with fund raising and social events.
