Shakespeare Week at Gawthorpe Hall

Last Friday, Year 6 enjoyed a morning full of activities to celebrate Shakespeare Week at the historic Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham. They used their historical enquiry skills to determine which portrait of Shakespeare was the most accurate, and explored the many different ways that he spelt his name. They also learnt about Shakespeare's lasting legacy on our English language today, and took part in an embroidery workshop. Finally, they learnt the art of swordsmanship and how this would be used in combat on the stage. The children were fantastic and a credit to the school - well done Year 6!
