Rachel Joyner

I commenced my role in 2021, sitting on the Health, Safety and Safeguarding Committee with a Governor nominated role for PSHE. I am currently self employed, having served part of my career working for The National Probation Service and in other Private Sector roles, working with adults & young people with behavioural issues and substance misuse issues.

I opened my own Muaythai Boxing Gym in 2007 which I feel is one of my greatest achievements to date. This sector was and still is a male dominated arena and at the time of establishment, I was the only woman in the country with her own Muaythai Gym registered with the sports Governing Body. I have always been very proud of this and hope that my ambition and determination has had/is having a positive influence on other young people, girls and women.

I have written and deliver workshops to help other people live their most successful and unrestricted lives including Self Defence, Assertiveness & Self Awareness Courses for Women & Girls and a 'Street Smart Kids' Anti Knife Crime workshop with which I collaborate with local Police & St Johns Ambulance.

I'm am unwaveringly dedicated & passionate about promoting equal opportunities for all children and I hope that within my role as a School Governor, I will be able to continue to develop successful and inclusive policies and practices, encourage progressive changes if required and promote confidence & self belief.
