Year 2 Statutory Assessment Tests
In Year 2, children are required to take part in KS1 SATs. These take place in the month of May.
What are SATs?
SATs are short for Statutory Assessment Tests. They are a measure of how well your child is able to meet the demands of the National Curriculum 2014 at a given point in time. Children’s skills are assessed in English (Reading, Spelling and Grammar) and Maths. English Writing and Science are assessed by class teachers. SATS are marked in school, mark schemes are given and national guidelines are followed when administering and marking the tests. An overall grading based on the whole year's work will be made.
