We are Reading!

World Book Day saw the launch of Lancashire’s year of reading. As a school, we have signed up to the ‘We are Reading’ campaign and will continue to promote reading throughout the year (please see attached pledge). The campaign is aimed at all-ages, from babies to grandparents, to encourage reading for pleasure and to improve standards in reading across the curriculum. Every week, we will post a reading tip on the website and newsletter for you to try at home.

We have set the children their first challenge to ‘Reach for the Stars’ (see attached file). Their mission is to complete the challenges (each one to be initialled by an adult) and post completed sheets into the special box in the hall, to be in with a chance of winning a £10 book token - the first prize draw will be on Friday 23rd March and subsequent draws will take place in the Summer Term. Good luck and get reading!

We look forward to an exciting year and thank you for your support!
